5. Sign - FLOW
Sixth Opening Theme, Naruto: Shippuden
If there is one person who omg!loves the angst, it's me. But the angst in this opening is almost too much :( There's angst that makes you feel good in a masochistic way, and then there's... this. Dude, the first time I watched the part where Itachi takes Sasuke's eyes, I was all, 'oh, what is th- omg, he's not going to- FUCK, NOOO!' That was followed by my screaming, and my cousin who was beside me was all, 'it's not real, kay?' At that time I wasn't reading/watching the manga/anime yet, lol. Bonus!features: Eye Scream (TV Tropes link) and Naruto combusting into the Tailed Fox *cries* It's on my list because it's Akatsuki-heavy (Konan, ftw) and there were lots of Itachi and Sasuke scenes. The beginning is just heartwrenching (and beautiful), sigh.
4. GO!! - FLOW

This is my favourite opening from Naruto because it's light and fun and the the music makes me wanna jump around. I love the images in this, especially the 'comic-like' format - the textures are just perfect. It has pervy!Jiraiya, lots of Sasuke, and refreshing old!Naruto. Ironic that the angstiest and fluffiest openings feature the same artist.
3. Distance - Long Shot Party
Second Opening Theme, Naruto: Shippuden
I'm a sucker for parallels, and the scenes where pre!timeskip Naruto and Sasuke walk towards each other compared with the post!timeskip versions of them makes me angst everytime. It's the good kind Naruto/Sasuke angst, though, because everytime I watch this opening I pause it right at the end because it's gorgeous and poignant. This is the opening with my favourite Sai scene, because his jutsu is captured beautifully here. Also, I love how the stark blue and white colour palette is repeated here in between the other brightly coloured scenes.

2. Hotaru no Hikari - Ikimono GakariFifth Opening Theme, Naruto: Shippuden

Anyway, anything that involves Valley of the End is a plus in my book because it is where teh sex happened like the fountain of good angst. The mirror images of Sasuke and Naruto? Perfection, srsly. The colours in this opening are the best - so fun to screencap! I wanted to cap the version where Sasuke doesn't just submerge himself in the water like Orochimaru's bitch, but the one where he slays him, but I couldn't find that version, boo. Naruto angsts a lot in this opening; I APPROVE.

I have so much love for this opening it's ridic. The first couple of times I watched it, I just felt like bawling. Everything is perfect: the song, the clips, the black-and-white opening scequence, omg. SO MUCH LOVE. I want to print out the screencaps of that sequence and frame it. But I won't, because I already have it as my iPod's wallpaper, lol. The person who came up with the concept is a genius. The bit with Sasuke's Sharingan and Naruto's teary eyes kills me. This is the best kind of angst, because the song is all upbeat but the lyrics make you want to weep for Sasuke and Naruto. It's beautiful and awful and perfect, tied together with thin threads of melancholy ♥ The colours in this are gorgeous too.
