So. Apparently it's not that hard to get a temporary residence visa... I now have one that's valid until December 2008!!!

*hops up and down excitedly* Cool huh?

So when do you think you'll be able to get a permanet visa? What do you have to do to get one?

A permanent one? Well, there's one of two ways to get one that I'm aware of...

1: invest a minimum of £100,000 in the SA economy. For example, buy property and then keep it invested for 3 years.

2: marry her! Oh yeah. I'm already doing that *grins*. Oh, then we have to stay married for 5 years. Then and only then, I get a permanent visa.

yup. 5 years. Ah well, c'est la vie. And yes, I should be able to keep renewing as long as I stay in a committed relationship.. :)

So does this mean you can go in and out the country now? Like coming to back here to visit?

Course! Cool huh? Doesn't mean I'm gonna leave a hot, sunny African summer to come visit you lot in a freezing arse grey dismal rotten English winter though...

They tell me June is actually quite a pleasant time of year in Europe...
