I realize I haven't been posting much about my life lately, and I really will soon (really!).  In the meantime, it's been a long time since I graced these pages with one of my political rants, and today I read something that really pissed me off:

That article made me so angry.

But, I have two points to add to yours:

(1) University ADJUNCTS and other part-time employees ARE paid by the hour, and not by salary despite the fact that we teach the majority of the courses. Yes, it is more than $36/hr, but....

(2) I spend waaaaaay more time on teaching than the classroom hours (plus one office hour) I get paid for, and I know as did you. When am I going to get some extra money for grading? For preparing lectures? For answering student emails? For going in to proctor exams when students couldn't show up? When is that going to be calculated into my hourly salary.

bah.
