I do think it's a little strange that you asked him if he could cut you a deal on the first apartment; I think it was clear from your prior exchange that he wasn't willing to do that, since his response to your "it's too expensive" was to offer you the second apartment, not offer to drop the price of the first one. With that said, I think he may have just felt no acknowledgment was necessary, since you said you weren't interested now but might be in touch later.
Well, he came back with the deal on the second apartment after he talked to the owner; it was the owners idea. The deal was to give one month free for every six months, so if we signed for a year, we would only pay 10 months rent. It's part of an incentive plan they're offering to people who move in, so there really isn't any reason he couldn't offer it for the first apartment, too.
But yeah, you're right, he probably just didn't think it was necessary to send another email.
that's ridiculous that she'd have to walk through your room to get to hers... what if she wanted to come home late at night?! thats impossible.. but i don't think its not weird that he didn't reply.. i agree with the poster above, he probably didn't because you left it open-ended sort of.... or he just doesn't have manners! :p
I think it's just lack of nice. Not really rude, just not really nice. Which, since it wouldn't take much effort to BE nice, is maybe kind of rude. But overall not a terribly big deal. Somewhere out there is an apartment...a perfect and affordable apartment...that doesn't have a stupid name. =D

No, of course not. Some people are just rude. Not even always on purpose, just clueless.
