"I'm a Christian. And so, although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition, and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman." (Chicago Tribune, 9/25/04)

well, see, that's the hard part. i always try to vote for someone electable. so at this point i'll end up voting for obama, probably. i kind of like edwards better but i don't think he's got much of a chance. i'd rather have someone in office who agrees with 80% of what i believe than 10%. i just wish the democrats could toughen up on this issue and stop tiptoeing around it. i know i probably put more weight on gay marriage than some other people, and yeah, the war is important--of course it is. but this feels really crucial to me because it's a civil rights issue. at least he won't do anything to actively HARM gay rights...

hi to you, too. and thanks!
