I finished the herringbone sock but it didn't turn out. So it's sitting there, all ill-fitting and without a mate. Since I'd already restarted it twice, I gave up for now and started a new sock project, involving purple and blue and knitting lace, of which sock #1 was completed this morning. Apparently in 1890 a philanthropist named Eugene Scheiffelin released 60 Starlings in Central Park, New York, NY. He did this as part of a larger project to introduce every bird mentioned in Shakespeare to North America. When I heard this I thought, this is too crazy to be true. But it is true. As I suspected would happen, after weeks of being mistreated, my body has totally abandoned ship. As soon as I finished the play yesterday, which was the last thing I had to do for school, I started becoming horribly sick. I can hardly speak but I can gurgle a bit, and rasp.
