First of all, have I told you recently how freaking cool you are? That should be mentioned again, if it's been a while. Second, I'm glad my overambitious plans for the summer inspired you - it's funny how some people make New Year's Resolutions, while people like me make Summer Break resolutions instead...hmmm. Anyhow, I'll probably be in Seguin a time or two over the summer; I'll give you a heads-up when I'll be coming through, and maybe we can go get coffee or something. Cheers, friend!

i really liked this...

i'm interning this summer away from houston and all my friends so i want to make goals for myself too. its funny - some of the goals i've thought about making are so similiar to yours, right down to the "read one book a week" one.

good luck with yours...let us know how it works out!

Oh, and on the subject of good books to read...I definitely recommend Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Other goodies read in the past year or so: A Grain of Wheat (Ngugi wa Thiongo), The Handmaid's Tale (Margaret Atwood), Snow Falling on Cedars (an absolute must-read by David Guterson), Middlesex (Jeffrey Eugenides), and (for lighter fare) anything by Christopher Moore.
