We went to a transition fair, with the goal of moving into young adulthood- and hopefully out of mom's house. No such luck. My kid told everyone how he was gong to stay at home with his mom, because he liked to hang out with her! And if he wasn't in the car, she never knew where to turn

The worst thing my youngest ever said to me?
"I'm never going to leave home! I'm going to stay and look after you when you're old."
I do appreciate the sentiment and he is a lot easier to live with at 19 than he was at 9; but those words did induce a gibbering panic.
