(no subject)
So, this was possibly my last regular season BU hockey game as a student *unless I can persuade mom to let me go to Miami on Sunday instead of Saturday* and I must say that I am disappointed. We did lose, 7-4, which ended our 11 game winning streak and we did give the game away *being as we were leading 4-1 at one point*, but really I am pissed off at the fans. These guys have won 11 games in a row, beating BC *who has been #1 in the nation this semester* twice, and winning a Beanpot and you have the gall to insult the players and the coaching? Not only does Coach Parker have more than 700 wins, but the players play their hearts out each week in addition to going to classes, doing homework, and studying. They don't have the luxury of pre-gaming before the game so that they can yell insults at the opposing team from behind safety glass. So we lost...it sucks...it happens. Not every call is bullshit, our team cannot have the puck for the entire game *the other team deserves a fighting chance*, and I'd like to think that one's mom is sacred grounds and should not be ridiculed *even if she did allow her son to play for someone other than BU*. The fans were really disgusting tonight. They weren't our usual group either...why the hell should Klein, Brian, and Jason who have been coming to games for at least 6 years have to sit not in their usual seats so that some drunk freshmen who isn't going to remember the game and doesn't know anything about hockey or BU tradition? GAH! It was not the way I wanted to remember one of my last games.
Amy and I went to see Karacter after the hockey game. There were A LOT of Mod people there, which was a little much for me. The band was okay, not my favorite Sean permutation. It was Lifestyle minus Boothnavy plus scary androgynous blonde guy and scary I'm-wearing-a-gas-mask-with-lights-on-the-nose guy. The lyrics were kinda goofy, but the beats were very solid. Sean hurt his finger, but he says that he is on for tomorrow for the Freezepop show. Very exciting!!!
Nice long 5 day weekend *well 4 days at this point* to look forward to chilling through. Probably will set up external hard drive, clean room, and do some reading, though I have a pretty easy week coming up. I should probably write my Buddhism paper this weekend and do some research for my Islamic scholars paper, but we'll see.
