so, exactly how hard would it be to be granted political exile in New Zealand?

speak of NZ, I met a lady the other day who had an accent and I thought she was Austrailian but turns out she was from NZ. I told her I didn't know much about it, but I hear they have a great political system there. She said "Oh, it's that labour party. I can't stand them."

fill me in! I love all politics, even the ones I have no say in.

Just as in most democracies, the Labour Party is the lesser of many evils. The Prime Minister, Helen Clark, is fantastic. She's tough yet human, astoundingly intelligent, and plays the power game incredibly well. Unfortunately she's often let down by her ministers. Oh, and she's not the best looking of women, but if she was a man no-one would ever say that, so I get angry when people point it out (um, like I did just then...) At any rate, she's got a clear lead in the polls as preferred PM even though her party's fortunes fluctuate ( ... )

Tell me about an unwritten constitution. How do you avoid corruption in lawmaking?

I've spent so much time with my head in American politics that I realized that I didn't know who the PM of Canada was.

I live ten miles away from the Canadian border.

A dear friend of mine is always saying how much he would like to live in NZ. He's never been there, but he says "you could ski into the rainforest."

I have to say, it does sound tempting.
