How horrifying a story, and how awesome are you for protesting. Please stay safe.

Thanks! No worries - I'm not athletic, so I always do the cowardly thing and stay way back. Not sure whether a couple hours' kip in a comfy tent counts as 'protesting', but... *shrug* Anyway, thanks. Much appreciated.

How very, very horrible. My heart goes out to L, to all the women who have had this happen, and you too, because you are so close to the danger.

I listen to a radio show called The World by BBC almost every day and the news about Egypt has been appalling. Stay as safe as you can, sweetie, while venting your anger and aiding the revolutionaries. It's such a difficult situation.

Aw, your icon just makes me smile every single time. :hearts: BBC's good. Your good wishes mean a lot. I'm feeling kind of useless, and survivor's guilt and all... but your comment is comforting. thanks.

Violence against women is everywhere. I read in the newspaper today that a woman in Afghanistan was beheaded because she didn't accept her cousin's marriage proposal.

In German newspapers there are often articles about woman experiencing violence who split up with a man or tell him they want to split up. We have refuge houses for battered women too. It's probably much the same in other European countries.

Every time I watch demonstrations in Cairo I think of you, Sarah. *Please* take care of you!

Uh, I forgot to tell you I like your black humour a lot! "I mean, the revolution is a long haul, but Yuletide's due in less than a month!"
