Talked to my Mama today. Lot of rain and strong wind - a few 90 mph gusts. Mama says the weather is worse then what they experienced in Katrina mainly b/c they are on the eastern side of the hurricane while Katrina they were hit with the western side. So sorry, you must feel so helpless talking to your mother and hearing about all the damage. I hope nothing really bad happens to their house, hopefully the worst is over - sorry about the tree. :)

Thankfully i dont feel as helpless this time around - i still use LA phone service and during Katrina my phone was out for quite sometime so i wasn't able to contact them or vice versa. Quite scary!

But yes - i believe the worse is over. Thanks. :)

Very happy that the worse is over and that it was much less bad as in 2005. Can't believe it's been three years already! Images are still so vivid.

It seems the storm may have actually been harder on Baton Rouge this time than it was on New Orleans! I'm glad your family are safe, Sarah, and that you can reach them.

yeah - mama said it was worse then Betsy (???) and Katrina. I don't know when Betsy was - must have been when i was little or before i was born. How are your friends and family? Don't think they are allowed back into N.O. yet????

Betsy was well before your time, Love. It was in 1965, I think. ;)

My friends and family are all fine. My oldest friend and most of her family actually came to the Atlanta area, which was lovely as I actually got to see them yesterday. :)

Not allowed back into the city yet, don't know when.
