Yeah, you must be reeling a bit from the shift from 'simple mechanical fix' to 'serious long term problem'. Hope the surgery keeps it in check for a good long while.

And I'm always interested in geeking about medical procedures. :)

It's weird. On the one hand, the diagnosis explains the years of trouble, but on the other hand, aaarrrggghhh.
