So, lately I've been working on learning Arabic. I've given it a few shots over the past few years, but Hebrew has always called me back to it. But now I'm really giving it a serious effort. Can't you get one of those library cards that works for the whole state? I did! Haven't tried it anywhere but AACo yet, though, and it'll do me a whole ton of good once I move to VA ..

Well, yeah, it is one of those "state" cards. But you know they aren't really state cards, right? A library worker in each county still has to put the information into the system. So if you had a state card you got in Montgomery County, you would still have to fill out a library card application for Prince George's County and show ID, and then your card would be entered into the Prince George's County system, but your two county accounts would actually be different ( ... )

Really! Oh, that's annoying! I wouldn't have bothered to change if I'd known that! The only thing the librarian who signed me up mentioned was PG, which I already had a card for, and I guess that wouldn't be nearly as difficutl. Oh well .. like I said, I probably won't have too much use for it once I move, though I probably *will* be coming home relatively often.
