Teeth hurt, Pride and Prejudice is good, language learning is boring but necessary

I wonder if ramen counts as "soft food." It was on a list of soft foods that I found on the Internet... and as we all know, the Internet is a completely reliable source. :) Anyway, I think I might try it tonight. I would say Ramen (cooked *g*) definitely counts as soft. :) When I had my wisdom teeth out, I lived in scrambled eggs and milkshakes and yogurt in those first couple days -- all nice and soft, with no chewing involved.

And yes, once you get used to them, you'll be eating mostly normally. Like you say, generations of kids with braces aren't growing up unable to chew. ;) When they say hard or sticky foods, they mean things like peanut brittle or caramel. Didn't they give you a detailed list of what to avoid? I know when Amy had her mouth appliance (to push out her teeth, not pull them in -- six months of wearing it at age 8-9 worked so well that she won't need anything else, which was great news!), they gave us a list of exactly what to avoid.
