Ani D and Me

Not much has made me feel like writing lately. What with all of this change (falling crazy in love, moving from New York to Seattle, totally changing my social circle), I think I've been putting all of my energy into remembering who I am in my head. well, i mean, in my universe anyway

have you heard her cover of "when the doves cry" or her small, not-on-any-cd-i-can-find,
only stole it from napster back in the day, "cold and mean"

both of those songs, make me burst.

she's rather awesome live.

The very first time I saw her live, back in ninety...five, I think, in a little red velvet theater in Ithaca, New York, she played "When the Doves Cry" as her final encore. It was just her and Andy Stochansky on stage, playing hand drums and singing, and toward the end of the song, the audience started singing the melody, and Ani sang the harmony, and holy cow, it was magical. I've been in love ever since.

I've never heard "Cold and Mean" though...do you have it in some kind of format you could share?
