That sucks. *wrinkles nose in distaste* I haven't personally had that happen, but last year (dorms, yay!), my friends had a Situation With Boyfriend Wearing Out The Welcome...one girl and her boyfriend (both formerly close friends of ours...note the "formerly"!) just *had* to sleep in the same bed every night. Yeah, each of them had roommates, and my friend who had to share a room with this girl was not comfortable with that...course they did it anyway! Ugh, I could go on and on about that, but I won't; suffice it to say, no one was too happy with them when last semester ended, and most of us haven't seen them since then. And yes, of course my poor friend Heather was made out to be The Bitch when she finally put her foot down. Yeah, wow, how inconsiderate she was, wanting to sleep in her own room without her roommate's boyfriend being there all the time?! (hmmm, think I'm still a bit annoyed about that? :D)
It's time to take his key away! And if I could turn the water off while he was in the shower you bet I'd be doing that along with "you don't freaking live here, go home".
And I strongly suspect the sewphisticate is right, there's not going to be a win/win here, although it needs to be done.
My last roommate had a lost distance boyfriend that came to live with us for a summer. He didn't have a job or a car so he was just in our very small apartment ALL THE TIME. And our air conditioning didn't work that summer. Luckily he was a fairly nice and considerate guest (actually, I liked him better than her), and I made her split the bills three ways, but it was awfully cramped. The only time I felt like I had any privacy was when they went to her parent's in Chicago. It got very invasive after awhile.
I'm sorry you have to deal with such an awful guy!
