Here's a question for you then, since you're the only doctor/med student on my list currently dealing with labor and delivery. Is the dilation of the cervix measured by diameter or circumference? Odd question, I know, but it just came to me tonight after pondering my recent doctor's visit.

diameter, and it's totally approximate, based on the examiner's experience. :)
