A little aside: Did you manage to stay awake during Quantum of Solace? Before I fell asleep, I noticed that the scenes were cut to look busy, but they seemed to cheat on the stunts. (A novel's equivalent would be to write, "Something exciting happens here.")

Ahem. I'd choose one of the *good* Bonds (Connery or Brosnan) for the witty banter and the travel. :-)

BOURNE BOURNE AND BOURNE TO THE TENTH POWER.

even ignoring the fact that Matt Damon is hotter then every other James Bond EVER (imho), Bourne movie or book verse Bourne that is, is just cooler.

Bond has always been so...angst for the movie. There seemed to me very little movie to movie angst going on. At most his grief over a friend's betrayal or death of a girlfriend/fiancee/wife lasted two movies? Bourne managed to stay angsty for ALL THREE MOVIES two of which he stayed angsty over the SAME chick. And he didn't move on to the (admittedly hot) Julia Stiles either.

I can't say much over the book versions of either guy since I didn't read any of the books.

So in the end Jason Bourne wins.

Well, I'm married, so this would be a one-night sort of thing, but given my choices, I think my husband would give me a pass and then he can have his night with the movie character of his choice and we're even. =) And since this is now a one night only thing, Bond totally wins. I'll take my D&G gown, enjoy the jet, and hopefully survive the first car chase before kissing good-bye and coming back home.
