Actually, the conversation was in English, as his Norwegian is so unintelligable even to other Norwegians, that I can only understand him if he speaks English to me.

This was definitely the correct response. Asperger's people need to be reprimanded immediately and directly when they transgress social norms.

Oh, that's rough. I had a student in South Carolina who has Asperger's...it can be so frustrating to deal with, even when you know that they don't really "get it."
