Back to work, probably more training.

Going back to work has been an easy transition for me. I am extremely lucky with this. The department I transferred into before the work stoppage is full of staff I don't know. I only recognize the faces of everyone I was in my original training class with... every one of them scabs. But that's in the past now, and I have to move on.

Because I didn't officially finish the training, I have to go through another week of memory refreshment. My trainer also noted that if after the refresher course, I still don't feel comfortable about starting the actual job, that he would slot me in to a brand new two week training class starting next week, with full pay.

I'm tempted to take him up on the offer. The more training I can get the better. On the other hand, I'd feel kinda bad - and concerned - in that TELUS will have spent a total of 6 weeks full time pay on me, 4 of which would have been a handout with absolutely zero return. The trainer insisted however that under the circumstances (labour dispute) TELUS would not take that into consideration at all. I've got some time to think about it, I suppose.

Otherwise, I'm looking forward to getting paid again. It will be good to put money away for my future home once again.

My hockey pools aggravated me last week. It was one of the better weeks I'd ever had... however, it wasn't good enough to overcome the week my opponent had. I lost 7-0 in the Assists, +/, Penalty Minutes, Powerplay Points, Goals Against Average, Save Percentage and Game Winning Goals categories. Pissed me right off... Made it look like I got my ass kicked, when in actual fact I was BARELY beaten in most of those categories.

My sleep schedule has been completely thrown out of whack. I need to wake up now at 6 am monday - friday, and I put myself to bed at 10ish so I can get a decent nights sleep. But I find myself lying in bed awake for a number of hours after lights out, and consequently waking up with insufficient rest. Pisses me off...

Anyway, that's all for now.
