Candy vs Fruit

I've pledged myself to eat more healthy and less sugar this month, after careful examination of my diet late in January led me to discover that I don't eat fruit. Period ( Read more... )

I guess because it's more portable, and they dont rot within a week of having them. lol Min and Ikes last you forever. XD oh and they are bite sized. you can pop one in your mouth and suck and enjoy. Rather then have to devour an entire peach or apple.

Candy's easier to carry around, and it's got a higher simple-sugar content so it's sweeter.

The sugar, and in some cases the added caffeine that the natural fruit doesn't give you. And some candies are lemon-flavored... still a fruit, but definitely not sweet in the natural state. Also, some people dislike the textures of certain fruits, though they enjoy the flavor. A hard candy doesn't have the starchy pulpiness of an apple, as an example, or the mushiness of a banana.

But mostly the much higher sugar content. :)
