Ughhhh I hate everything about "reboot." I mean, I'm hesitant for it to make the transition to film anyway, since it's just such a serial show. But to completely disregard 50 years of canon?? I am pretty sure BBC isn't understanding here that that is a big part of the appeal of the show for people. Fans of Doctor Who love it because they love the madman with a box, yes, but they also love the rich history and the feeling like you're watching something big and old and wonderful. I feel like Yates/BBC want to slap a shiny marketable veneer on it and forget a lot of what makes the show great, and what makes the Doctor so interesting: all the things he's lived through, seen, and experienced (and that we've experienced with him
