now I just have to remove all of the caulk and recaulk the tub. Not my idea of a fun time, but at least it won't cost that much to do

It may not be pretty, but you've made it this far so you might as well brave through it. The other side of insanity is supposed to be beautiful ;) And it'll make things easier when those 40 days are up!
