I know it doesn't help for me to say i understand because I have never met ben and only know about him based off of things you have said, but if you just need to talk i can listen cause i have gone through things similar before.

This girl Shannon doesn't seem like she's a great friend if she's always changing her feelings towards you, you deserve better than that. And as for this Ben guy, you deserve someone who cares about you and will take care of you, wherever it is you are when he's in Florida. I say just let it go, and move on. College really isn't all that great away from home, it's all partying and rarely do people get their homework done. Stay away from it, it's not good news. Just find the inner happiness you have and let it shine sweetie. You don't have to make "new" friends, maybe remake friendships with old friends, people you lost during the growing process. Maybe once you reconsile your differences with friends you used to have for years, then you might find peace because they missed you and wanted that same inner happiness of being friends again.
