Ok, I'm a little appalled. I just got a call from my local union's president, who I basically can't stand because she's kind of a control freak and a sell out. She said she had to take quick action and send a letter to Congress about the bridge loan to the auto industry, and that she put the names of the Unit Chair of each campus on the letter

The fact that our International President's only idea is to go hand-in-hand with the boss's hat-in-hand gesture before Congress is appalling. The fact that our Local President is treating you with disregard ... I'm sort of impressed that you can still get appalled at this, which seems to be on the banal end of the callous disrespect with which they treat us. But I'm more deadened than appalled.
