I read a lot (if you haven't figured that out yet) so here goes with another post about what I'm reading and why it made me think.

I think this especially holds true with music. While new compositions may not be "original" in the strictest sense of the word - we use the same structures, pitches, instruments, etc. - it is the assembly of the music that makes each piece unique. The combination of notes, rhythms, melodies, and, perhaps most important, intent, gives each piece of music a uniqueness that makes it different from the probably millions of other pieces that have been composed throughout human history ( ... )

Addendum: Also, no two performances of music are ever the same - it is a different experience every time, even though the music is exactly the same.
