Ok, I haven't come across anything related to Eito identifying their music taste. So I'd very much love to learn about this topic. Would you be so kind as to clarify this please?

And I'll be looking forward to the remaining 10 questions.

Cheers, Sara-chan XD

Not everyone has comented much on their music tastes so I only know about some members. It's a lot easier to see it with members that compose music, which are only Ryo, Subaru and Yasu ( ... )

Thanks so much for these info you have passed on to me. m(_ _)m I'm always happy to be able to learn more about Eito and their musical tastes, among many other things. I'm like a novice lv10 in an Ultimate Quest to Become an Eighter. XD ( ... )

I'm all for Maru getting more distinct bass lines too! But you know, I'm happy that his bass has been more proeminent in recent songs, maybe because he got better at it in recent years so they can show him off more now. Songs like NOROSHI, Tokyoholic, and specially Zou (the best song for Maru's bass, in my opinion!). I really loved his bass performance in the latest DVD (Eightertaiment). And well, to this day I haven't ran into any Maru fans who don't die for his bass hahahaha We all love his sillyness but his serious stance playing the bass is every Maru fan's biggest weakness xD ( ... )

Yeah, playing instruments is not a new thing in JE, but besides Eito the only group who does it is TOKIO, but they are different, they were a band right from the start and they are a band-only group. At first, they were an idol band (that is, they could play music, but they didn't write their own material), but with time the agency started to trust them enough to let them release their own music and now most of their songs (lead singles at least) are written and arranged by themselves <3 A lot of Eito fans wish they follow the TOKIO path ( ... )

You are a life saver! Sara-chan. m(_ _)m

And You were right. These great comms: Onlyeitofiles, o_e sub, Eitokickass, are not open for new membership. Eitokun remains so silent. This makes me regret as how late I am to get to know Eito. It's like I am just reaching an ideal destination spot and find out that everybody else has already gone. orz

Um...do you think is it ok for me, a non-Brazillian and Portuguese-speaking user, to try to join your comm? What if I take some files there and want to leave a thank you comment? Since it stated that discussion must be in Portuguese. Wouldn't that be a problem?

Ooh...I'm quite impressed by TOKIO's background. Must be a nice band indeed.

I honestly don't know why those pages don't accept new people (actually I know it's because people keep stealing their stuff and uploading it to streaming channels) but it honestly sucks for new fans :/ It feels like we don't have a place to gather anymore. Probably the only place where people still seem to interact a bit is on tumblr ( ... )

I’ve met 8 neither through other groups, their songs, perfs, nor concerts, but through the Chronicle show. Around April, a certain web page that I’m following started subbing Ikemen Camera and English Tel. Game segments in Thai. 8 was seriously funny and gradually piqued my interest. Yeah, I’m no different than other Eighters who love 8 because of their funniness and happy atmosphere. First I thought they were a bunch of actors (I tend to assume that everyone appearing on screen is actor XD). Then I guessed they were comedians. Finally I learned that they were actually a JE’s idol group. WTH!?! For real?? This is an idol group who doesn’t seem to care about their images, doesn’t give a shit if they don’t look cool or hot (sounds funny but you get what I mean, right ( ... )

Hahahaha. I agree with you that Ryo is a gigantic magnet bait attracting almost everyone who has laid eyes upon the group. A considerable amount of girls here go for him. And Subaru’s voice is so powerful. As for me, I like Tatsu’s voice the most among members. He has this deep, low-pitched, calm tone and is soothing to hear. Even Maru has a bit too high-pitched voice for my taste.

I feel a bit guilty that I’m not initially hooked by Eito music. I mean they have several upbeat, genki songs that are catchy. And I’m happy that they (or the producer) try to incorporate different musical genre into their works. I like You Can See more than Michi, so to speak. I wish one day Eito could have total control over their music in every aspects. That would be a bless.

You just couldn’t ignore Flea’s bass lines, could you? ;-D I reckon he’s one of the greatest bassists for the present time.

I don't think you should feel guilty, seriously, pretty much everyone that got hooked to Eito wasn't because of the music. Everyone is here for their goofy personas, good music is a plus, of course, but we keep loving them even when they release crappy songs :) And I sure hope they'll achieve a level where they can release an album only with their own songs and produced by themselves. They still have some way to go on that until they reach TOKIO's Nagase level

Ryo is the ultimate bait in this group hahaha Although I've met some people that were Yoko-baited.

Flea's bass xD That's exactly it, you can't ignore it even if you try. You still hear it even if you're not looking for it, it just stands out!

Crappy songs... deovolente8 October 9 2017, 17:17:57 UTC
Well, I don’t know many Eighters’ opinions in general so I decided to keep it to myself, unless I’m talking to an open-minded person like you, Sara-chan. I see you aren’t really impressed by Jam. I myself haven’t gotten time to sit still, focus and listen to any of Eito’s whole albums, except for Jam. XD So, I’d say that I like Never Say Never the most. Nagurigaki Beat and Egetsunai are nice. I guess you can see a pattern here so this’s my confession. My preferences in musical genre are rock and alternative music, especially those from the 90’s to early 2000’s. I like some ballads and slow songs too. Ai Deshita, Tsubusa ni Koi, or Tsuyoku are all beautiful ( ... )

I see we have similar thinking. I agree with you about Maru's bass getting buried under too much noise. Bass is already subdued by nature, its sound is low and low-frequency sounds naturally get overshadowed by higher ones (like happens with voices too). As you said, Eito has a lot of instruments so if the bass doesn't get solo parts it'll be hard to hear it most of the time. That clip of them performing One is from Spirits concert (that wooden bass with that white strap with musical notes is the classic Maru bass from his early days, like, fans were so used to it that we kind of mourned it when he stopped using it xD). Back when the 4 Subaru BAND members were the only ones who could play, it was easier to have Maru stand out. BUT, still, I think it's getting better recently. If you happen to watch their latest concert (Eightertainment), its band session (Tokyoholic, Zou and Noroshi) have a lot of good Maru parts, and the good thing is that they're more noticeable in the lives than in the studio versions. In case you haven't seen it ( ... )
