Good-o. I was thinking about this on my way to Café Del Mundo whose bacon and avocado baguettes I can recommend unreservedly, and imagining that I was a stalker, and what sort of responses would have the best deterrent effect on me. I decided that ignoring me completely, or being very very hostile would put me off, but that if someone tried letting me down gently ("You're a lovely person, I just don't think it would work" etc) that would just encourage me to keep on stalking in the hope that they'd change their mind.
So given that I don't think you have it in you to be sufficiently nasty, ignoring is the best policy. Can I also make it clear that I have never stalked anyone.
