....oh fuck it. I'm bored and I have nothing better to do at work.
Oh yeah, my fabulous Much Ado icon is from the
bard_icons journal and was made by
aiken_4clay. Trust me when I tell you I nearly crapped myself when I saw it.
[1] What did you do in 2004 that you've never done before?
Um, what did I do?
[2] Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I've stopped making resolutions, because I no longer am capable of keeping them.
[3] Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not that I know of
[4] Did anyone close to you die?
Yes, Tara. She wasn't one of my really close friends, but I was there when she passed away and I was in a show with her.
[5] What countries did you visit?
Like Anne and Greg: Canada.
[6] What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
More self confidence. And a pony.
[7] What date from 2004 will remain etched on your memory, and why?
October 25: the day Tara died.
[8] What was your biggest achievement of the year?
The amount of self-esteem and confidence I've been working on. I feel so much better about myself in general.
[9] What was your biggest failure?
Not being a better friend to people, being a backstabbing bitch (cause I have an unfortunate tendency to talk about people behind their backs, feel guilty about it, but not stop cause I like it.)
[10] Did you suffer illness or injury?
No, but my mom did.
[11] What was the best thing you bought?
Oy. I don't even know. Let's say countless pairs of shoes and clothing.
[12] Whose behavior merited celebration?
Um, excellent question. Remind me to get back to you when I have a conclusive answer.
[13] Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Mine, and Bush's. Our country is going to hell in a handbasket.
[14] Where did most of your money go?
First of all, you have to have money. Second, I spend my money on voice and acting lessons and food. It's pathetic.
[15] What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Being in Paul Todaro's acting class, getting an ASM position for next semester, getting cast in Paul Todaro's show, the fact that I'm going to London.
[16] What song will always remind you of 2004?
Hmmm. Anything Gavin DeGraw, Alabama Song, Knock Me a Kiss, Stuck in the Middle and a crap load more.
[17] Compared to this time last year, are you:
[A] Happier or Sadder
[B] Thinner or Fatter?
[C] Richer or Poorer?
[a] Happier. Definitely happier.
[b] About the same. Unfortunately.
[c] Richer in terms of non-material things. Poorer in terms on money.
[18] What do you wish you'd done more of?
Going to skiffle!
[19] What do you wish you'd done less of?
Bitching and worrying about things I can't control.
[20] How will you be spending Christmas?
At home with my mom and dad and uncles.
[21] Did you fall in love in 2004?
That would be a big fat negatory.
[22] How many one-night stands?
Ahahahaha. Right. That's funny.
[23] What was your favorite TV program?
Nip/Tuck, Family Guy, and the Lifetime Channel.
[24] Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Hate is a really strong word.
[25] What was the best book you read?
Erm, this is unfortunate, because I mostly read Nora Roberts books, which don't exactly count as high class literature. I have read some things with merit, however. Like, The Time Traveller's Wife and
[26] What was your greatest musical discovery?
The Last Five Years and Wicked.
[27] What did you want and got?
To be cast both semesters this year. And to be in Paul Todaro's acting class.
[28] What did you want and not get?
To be cast in a mainstage show, to be cast in SDP. .
[29] What was your favorite film this year?
Well Love Actually came out last Christmas, so that doesn't count. Saved! was awesome, The Incredibles. There are some others in there.
[30] What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
I turned 20; and for the life of me I can't remember what I did. Is that sad?
[31] What one thing would have made your year immeasureably more satisfying?
Weighing less than I do, and having the guy I liked beg me to go out with him only to have me crush his heart the way he did mine.
[32] How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Uh. Lesbian chic? I don't know, I made that up. I don't have a concept. I just wear what I feel like wearing.
[33] What kept you sane?
My friends who aren't crazy.
[34] What celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Adrien Brody of course and Johnny Depp. Oh yes, and Paul Todaro.
[35] What political issue stirred you the most?
(This is Greg's response, but it completely sums up how I feel.) Not any particular "issue" so much as the general re-election of a bigot like George Bush. Although you could add the stolid pretense that this "war" has [1] any kind of realistic purpose in really emancipating this country that we *ahem* INVADED and [2] any kind of end soon.
[35] Whom did you miss?
Bryce, who has recently come back into my life. Yay! Kate, Peter and Timmel cause I never see them anymore.
[35] Who was the best new person you met?
Anne Maloy doesn't count, cause technically we met last year, but we reaquainted ourselves this year. And Lauren and I became better friends. Actually for the most part, that goes for the whole theatre dept. at NU.
[35] Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004.
While I spent most of my time obsessing over one guy who in the end was not worth it, I've realized that I'm better than that. My priorities have changed since I almost lost my mom. I could give two shits that I don't have a boyfriend.
[35] Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"Oh, my crush
Damaging my soul
You blew me off
But I don't mind
I just get better with time."
