In Conclusion, FML

I would like to have a short vacation from my life, please. Seriously, I have just about reached my threshold for bullshit, and I'd really just like to take a break.

I have to laugh a little bit at how angry I was in my last entry because, really, it SO did not get better from there. At the time, I wouldn't have believed it could get worse. I should ( Read more... )

*massive hugs*

Yes, real life is an uber bitch that needs a good slapping. Keep at the unemployment office - call until you get a live human being on the phone. You should only have had a single waiting week - they owe you the other two. You paid into the unemployment systems for 19 years. It is YOUR money.

You definitely need some downtime. Don't let the stress eat you alive. It's not karma - you are in a much much bigger boat than that. *hands you an oar* Welcome aboard mate.

If your father cannot understand your financial situation, then you probably don't want to be going to his wedding anyway.

Even if it's just to complain, I like hearing from you! Hang in there sweetie!

*hugs back* I did get a real person before, but she said that there was nothing she could do, which I translated into, "it's too big a pain in my ass to try to help someone who doesn't know their way around the system and made an honest mistake with good intentions, even though that's my job." They're paying me now, so that will have to be good enough.

Thanks for putting up with me, love!

Ooh, that's a good idea. I may have to try that for my throat tomorrow. Tonight, I shall feast on Nyquil. ;) Thanks for the good vibes!

With all that stress, it's no wonder your immune system is on vacation!

In the case of divorce, I don't think an adult child has any obligation to attend a parent's wedding, (and the parent has no right to expect them to).
Make the choice that's easiest on you.

Best of luck with the job search!

I hope things improve on the job front. I've been temping for several years now because I got fed up with being made redundant (laid off). No matter what anyone says it is a slap in the face and a severe knock to your self-esteem. Try to remember that it is them not you!

Can you use poverty as an excuse to avoid the wedding? Or ill-health? Or maybe even a new job that means you need to work on that day?

Vent away - LJ is good for that.
