Signs?

I'm taking a kind of poll, and I'd love to have your input.  Life is being...life-like right now, and I'm wrestling with it.  This is one of those things that I've always struggled with, and I would very much like to hear what my friends think ( Read more... )

I think the 'giant neon signs' is your subconscious poking you at an opportune moment. I believe in Feng Shui and use it to a small extent - the universe is made up of matter but even more so, of energy. I do not think humans are quite smart enough nor clever enough to have learned all there is to know. I'm not sure I believe in predestination. But I do know that all this energy interacts in mysterious ways we may never understand... did the universe send you a sign? Or are you just acknowledging something within yourself? Unless is it literally an earthshaking sign - I subscribe to the efficiency of the universe... a sign is acknowledging something within yourself.

Sometimes, the things we want are not the things that are best for us. I accept that. I guess I am trying to figure out if that's the situation I'm in now. Is the Universe trying to tell me that I'm not where I am supposed to be, or am I simply another temporary victim of a crappy job market?

Well, you ARE a victim of a crappy job market... but you are questioning where you are and where you should be. Not all of us that lose jobs ask ourselves those questions so, perhaps, it is time you asked yourself... and give yourself the luxury of exploring the questions and finding real answers.

Generally I believe in the randomness of the universe, but sometimes it does look like deliberate signs and I wonder if there is some grand plan.

There is a quote/ saying/ or something that I read that says that you can't fix a problem until you acknowledge it and you have to be in the right place mentally to see the help available. And until you are in that right place you just won't be able to see that help/ solution.

I think it is a focus thing and I know that has happened to me in good and bad ways. If you accidentally cut your finger then suddenly you are very aware of every time your sore finger bumps against anything or even just moves. I think it is the same with other problems once you are 'aware of it' then 'it' is everywhere.

I'd go with your subconscious giving you some hefty nudges too!

Take the time to drill down into your own wants and needs and see if you can find an answer. I do know that is easier said than done though - I hide a lot of things from myself.

Thanks for commenting! For as intensely introspective as I am, I know that I hide things from myself, too. I think a lot of the questioning I'm doing now is really a result of fear and panic. I feel like I am constantly asking myself, "Am I doing it wrong? Do I totally fail at life?" It's my own insecurities coming into play, and insecurity does not mesh well with job-hunting. I also have a difficult time accepting that there are often no absolutes; no right and wrong decisions, just choice A and choice B. It is entirely possible that I am just freaking out. :)

Yeah, the signs are there. We are surrounded by miracles, but don't see them because most of them are the "something *didn't* happen" variety. Whatever those protective forces are (gods, saints, ancestors, good fairies, karma) they are constantly, gently, trying to point you in a positive direction. Problem is, sometimes that positive direction isn't the one you want at the time.
