So, the new year is turning out alright so far. I'm calling photographers, setting up appointments, and getting ready for headshots! This also means that, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I don't have to do the insurance thing, which makes me very happy ( Read more... )

Thank YOU, Craig for clearing that up for me. I read Dave Barry's New Year's thing (naturally) and I saw that it said "next week" was his "farewell" article...and I was going to shoot myself in the knee to distract from the pain if that meant his LAST article. I am breathing a sigh of relief...and you have officially saved me from a life time of knee trouble.

Well, I feel compelled to clarify, so please remove all potentially harmful objects from your presence. Harmful objects include, but are not limited to: guns, knives, forks, spoons, bricks, stones, very small rocks, anything capable of being tied around and supporting more than two pounds of wieght, and, most importantly, stupid people ( ... )

LOL. Mrs. Potts will never be the same for me.

And MAJOR SADNESS!!!! Dave Barry cannot go. He is the source of too many smiles...and smiles are one thing that EVERYONE needs. Fortunately, I decided that I need my knees...so I'll spare them...for now.

Good suggestions on the spacing things out though. And I'm totally adding that book to my list of books to buy.

And you saw Dave Barry in concert? I'm confused. What was it like open mic night with the Rock Bottom Remainders? Did he read aloud? And who the hell are the Rock Bottom Remainders? And who the HELL chose their name? I mean seriously...it doesn't get any more lowly than that. beyond rock bottom. The friggin' REMAINDERS of rock bottom. Finally, how do you say "nyah"? I'm sitting here tryin' to say "nyah" and I'm getting frustrated. I sound like a little chinese woman on speed.

The Rock Bottom Remainders are a group of authors that play for "America Scores"--a literacy charity.

Check out their website. I don't know it's address, but if you go to DaveBarry.com, there's a link called "Don't Quit Your Day Job" that leads to their site. It's pretty damn funny.

I've not read "greatest Hits", but Boogers are my Beat was hysterical, except the last two articles, which were after 9-11, and they brough me to tears.
