Right, so, where to pick up... ummm..... OK, I am now a high green belt in Eagle Claw Kung Fu, which puts me at a little less than halfway to black belt. This makes me very happy. What didn't are the aftereffects of my test...namely the sparring. I had to go for four minutes against a third degree black belt who also knows Brazilian Jui Jitzu ( Read more... )

Too bad you're so miserable at that job; sounds like you have an enlightened boss, and those are hard to come by. Glad to hear they're willing to work with you to transition out rather than just screwing you over outright.

As far as ideas, there's an Apple Store there, right? Try there. And if you get in before I do, put a good word in for me. :-P

You're going to NY. How can a good word at an Apple Store in Chi-Town help.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be more than thrilled to do it, but I don't know that it'll help.

Sure it'll help! Same company, right? Once you're in, you could be like, "Hey! Steve Jobs! You need to hire my buddy Mike in New York! Seriously! If you don't, then screw you, Steve Jobs, I'm goin' hooome..."

Incidentally, here ya go...

OK, so it sounded great until the "I'm goin' hooome..." part. I still need the job...But if I run into him, I'll let him know. If he listens to me at all, you'll be getting a call. (gotta love approximate rhyme.)

Definitely a suggestion....I'll have to see what they're paying.
Thanks for the heads up.

Hi Craig! Hi hi hi hi hi! I miss you! Just wanted to say that. And I have nothing constructive to say. Umm... you should just temp like I do. Because even if the job sucks? You can say to yourself, "I am not invested in this. I can walk away from it right now and it won't really matter to anyone - LEAST OF ALL MOI."

I think that you should buy a dolphin and train it to do tricks. Sure, it's a big investment, but who doesn't want to see a trained dolphin?

On the whole, it was OK. I loved Arthur and Trillian--they were pretty fun to watch in general. Ford was OK, but I don't think Mos Def had the energy I'd always imagined Ford having (I think that Don Cheadle would have been great -- think Ocean's 11, such fun energy to watch...) and they missed a HUGE joke by not mentioning his last name. Zaphod got on my nerves, which made me not happy. I absolutely LOATHED the shitty Texas dialect (gee, how did Sam Rockwell come upon that one coughpoliticscoughcough), and he was justa little too creepy for me. When I got really excited about him being cast, I was figuring a bit more of the "Guy" from Galaxy Quest than the child raping/murdering guy from "Green Mile". Marvin was funny, but a little odd looking, oh well. Alan Rickman was a perfect choice for his voice. My favorite kind of hit me from another direction, but I really loved Slartibartfast. He was hysterical, if only in his somewhat fatalistic performance ( ... )
