If you hadn't said so I would never have realised this was your first vid. The images and the song went together perfectly and your use of other sources to tell a coherent story was very well done. I particularly liked the split screen (I hope that's the correct technical term *g*) shots of Uther with others and the way the ending built was excellently done. Dude - 'split screen' might be the correct term - but there is no freaking 'split screen' function in Sony Vegas so it's more a convoluted 'multi-layered, panned screen, cookie cutter vid effect with a heavy dose of feathering' term. *headdesks like mad* I think I could write the manual now for Vegas ....

And I swear, if I do another vid, I'm making it 1 min long with one epi/vid source. *g*

Holy shit...it's been awhile since I've seen a vid this well-done! This has such a unique point of view, being Uther-centric and using a strong narrative largely drawn outside of canonical themes. I love that you parallel Uther's cruelty towards magic with a grittier, more real universe than that of the Merlin one, where much is glossed over. The bit when Morgana is thrown into jail works great with the lyrics, and that montage with everyone else getting taken away? Totally genius.

The Arthur/Merlin didn't hurt either ;) Will be recced.

The Merlin glossy universe disappoints me but I understand - it's in part a kids show, so it's not like we're going to get the ultra dark takes. But all the same - it's disappointing because it *is* glossed over - casual comments to the hunting/genocide of a people, yeah, someone died because they were magical but hey, that's just Camelot/Uther for you. I hope this gets more attention (as well as the Purge - I mean - how's Arthur going to feel when he finds out he's basically responsible for the death of untold witches/sorcerers? I mean - not directly responsible - but it was his birth that unleashed ruthless!Uther on the lands of Camelot.
