FO: Pea Pod Baby Sweater

Pattern Source: Pea Pod Baby Sweater, Interweave Knits webknit by Kate Gilbert
Size: 6 mo
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, just about 3.5 balls. The color is closest to true in the first picture, it's really a lovely bright purple.
Needles: Addi Turbos, size 5
Time to Knit: About a week, not counting the search for duckie buttons

Notes: A gift for the new baby girl born to my husband and I's college friends. I loved the yarn, but probably wouldn't use it for something not for a baby. I can tell already just from handling it myself that it won't hold up to regular wear. But as a baby sweater knit more for special occasions that most likely won't be worn all the time, it's just fine. Same goes for the buttons. Not so practical, but so damn cute!
Modifications: The cuff chart calls for a single decrease on the tops of the leaves, which I felt looked sloppy and made the leaves look crooked. I instead used a slip 1-k2tog-psso decrease centered on the top of the leaves, and compensated for the extra decreased stitch by doing a bar increase on the top of the leaves WS row. The other mod was the applied icord collar. I knit the leaf cuff border for the collar, but was unhappy with the selvedge edge and the way it looked over the seed stitch button bands. In retrospect, I still would have done the applied icord, but would have done a 5 stitch instead of a 3 stitch so it would be more prominent and not roll as much in the back.
