The complexity of figuring out dinner.

On a far less dramatic note, I decided that I would be the one to make dinner tonight. BF did the other night, J did last night, so I figured I should take a turn. I like tofu as a "vehicle-for-sauce" substitute (which, to me, is what chicken is). I've found that canned sauces from the "ethnic" aisle are not nearly as spicy and scary as the ones you get from a proper restaurant. At least the Thai peanut sauce and the tikka masala sauce I just got were kind of disappointing.

I had a similar block about bell peppers for YEARS. I think what ultimately got me out of it was quesadillas. Even if Mexican is "out," I bet if you just make quesadillas and call them something else, J would go for it.

I'm not experienced with tofu in the least. I know it's incredibly versatile and can be used for savoury and sweet purposes, but unless I would sneak that in without them knowing somehow (unlikely) I'm not even sure they'd try it.

I did, however, pull off something that worked for me and satisfied them, so that's good!
