Argh, this reminds me of the bit in Order of the Phoenix when James hangs young Snape from the tree and his underpants are dirty - ew!

See, Snape is too petty and vengeful for my tastes. The way he treats Harry sucks, not just because it sucks, but beacuse he's a teacher and an adult and should bloody well know better. Also, dude, let it go! Get over it! Shit happens in school, we cope, we deal, we move on.

Sirius, otoh, is less childish and silly about it.
Moderately less.
Or a little less.
