And here I'd just celebrated Valentine's day a few months back. So I guess I get to celebrate it again.
Would anyone like to hear a story?
Once upon a time, sometime in the 13th century there was a man called something, but for the sake of this story we'll just call him St. Valentine. One day Valentine was out walking about passing out sweets and delivering the good word of his lord Jesus Christ. It just so happened that he had wandered upon an area in which the rulers were evil pagans who worshiped goats, and performed sex rituals. Valentine continued to deliver his sweets and message, but was arrested and thrown in the jail.
It was decided that for his crimes he would be beheaded. Before he was he met this woman who was blind. None of the evil pagan rituals worked. The woman asked Valentine to pray for her. He did so, and then spat in her eyes. Disgusted she slapped him and blindly stumbled away.
The next day she came back and apologized for her behavior, and said her temper was because of her PMS. Valentine forgave her, and using his magic powers he restored her site. The woman could finally see, but she realized that Valentine was actually not easy on the eyes, and she dumped him.
Depressed Valentine wrote a poem shortly before his execution.
And that boys and girls is why we celebrate Hallmark Day.
