what's in a name

Last night I met a little girl named Lauren. I'm not sure how old she is, 8 maybe. And to me she looks and acts like a "Lauren". I've known several girls named Lauren in my lifetime and all of them have shared a very particular "Lauren" vibe. Names have great power. Adam's place above Eve was reaffirmed in Genesis by attributing him with naming all things. There's a ridiculous amount of material in the hermetic orders regarding the Naming of Things.

I'm a Namer. I give people nicknames all the time. I developed the habit in kitchens because it was a way of claiming someone, making them mine. Soup was a lot more fun to work with than boring old David. Funny thing is that after i gave him the name Soup, so very few people could keep up with him in that department. He literally became the Soup, since his hands were pretty much the only ones to touch it.

I think you would make a wonderful Katherine, though i agree Katie captures your joi de vivre a bit more succinctly.
