Now that I'm exposed as a blasphemer, I feel safe in confessing the rest. Onward, then.
1. Deangirl or Samgirl?
Here's the thing: As it concerns their relationship, I'm absolutely bibro. I am equally moved and angered by and sympathetic towards each brother; I don't know how many times I've debated from both sides of the fence, so to speak, in fandom discussions. Don't ask me to choose between them. But as they relate to other characters, I'm honestly more of a Deangirl than a Samgirl. I tend to be more interested and invested in Dean's relationships with other characters than I am in Sam's relationships with them. This is partially because of Jensen's performance and partially because the subject/object balance between Dean and Sam is hopelessly mismanaged by TPTB, so that Dean is given far more human interaction (so to speak) with other characters while Sam is given plot or myth-related interaction. It definitely has an impact on which scenes I rewatch more frequently and which relationships I find more compelling. Plus, I find both boys handsome, but Jared looks from time to time like a cross between Jon Bon Jovi and my brother, which just makes the whole thing kind of weird? I have no problem staring at Jensen, though. With lust, okay? Yes. He also makes Dean a very lived-in character, which rewards repeated viewings with all of the little nuances that keep coming to light.
2. Casgirl, yes or no?
"Yes" is too small a word for how much YES goes into this answer. I find his character equally as compelling and sympathetic, and his story equally as epic and poignant, as the Winchester story. I have too many thoughts, too many feelings, which will all end up as too many words on the page. So, I'll just leave it at: "YES," and "Absolutely."
3. Favorite season?
I honestly can't choose between S2, S3 and S4. Each of those seasons has an atmosphere specific to it, memorable character arcs for both brothers, satisfying conclusions and an amazing emotional journey from start to finish. They all had low points, but the good episodes were very good, and the great episodes were fantastic.
4. Favorite episode(s) from your favorite season?
These are not comprehensive lists, but just to name a few...
S2: "Everybody Loves a Clown," "Nightshifter," "Roadkill," "What Is And What Should Never Be"
S3: "A Very Supernatural Christmas," "Mystery Spot," "Fresh Blood," "Jus In Bello"
S4: "Lazarus Rising," "Monster Movie," "Death Takes a Holiday," "On The Head of a Pin"
5. Season you're most likely to re-watch?
Any of them, at any time. I get into moods to watch episodes by a certain writer or director sometimes, or to revisit some of my favorite brotherly love moments or Cas/Dean moments or Bobby moments, etc... I don't usually rewatch a season as a whole.
6. Season you hate the most?
I have a love/hate relationship with both S5 and S6, for very different reasons. I hate the godawful anvils of angst in S5 with a burning passion and can't stomach the offensive idiot plot and (out-of-)character developments in the last few episodes. I also hate the lack of direction and purpose in S6, as well as the internal inconsistencies that have completely undermined Sam's character arc for the last two seasons. That said, both of them have amazing Team Free Will moments, Cas/Dean moments, brotherly love moments and standalone episodes that are pure joy. S6 actually contains some of my all-time favorite brotherly love moments and Cas/Dean moments, so... there's that.
7. Favorite episode of the current season?
I don't really have a favorite, per se. I like the first 35 or so minutes of "Slash Fiction," the themes and general atmosphere of "Repo Man," the intensity (if not the plot) of "Death's Door," and the (too truncated) character moments of "The Born-Again Identity." There are a lot of other character moments sprinkled throughout that I rewatch but not whole episodes.
8. Least favorite episode from the current season?
Hard to pick one from "The Girl Next Door," "Defending Your Life," "Shut Up, Dr. Phil," and "Season 7, Time for a Wedding!" Poor, dead Amy was as pointless as poor, married Becky. I hated both "developments" quite a lot.
9. Favorite angel (besides Cas)?
Zachariah was to angels what Crowley is to demons. I want him back. Uriel and Lucifer are tied at second, although my favorite Lucifer is Jared-as-Lucifer in "The End." That scene is so perfect. ♥
10. Least favorite angel?
Michael-in-Adam was the most disappointing, although Rachel is on my "not favorite" list what with being utterly wasted. :| Hallucifer belongs in a completely different category: a possible favorite that has become unrecognizable from the original character introduced in S5 (see above) and is therefore almost unapproachable as a character of his own with any kind of internal consistency.
11. Favorite demon?
ORIGINAL MEG. Also Crowley, Ruby #1, and Casey. YED (including appearances in various parental figures) is always fun, and I think they totally wasted what they could have done with Brady. Boo.
12. Least favorite demon?
Ruby #2 is by far my least favorite, thanks largely to offensive writing and directing choices in "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Heaven and Hell." Much like Lucifer/Hallucifer, the main reason for my discontent is how unrecognizable Ruby #2 was from Ruby #1. They might as well have been different characters.
13. Favorite one-episode character?
The shapeshifter in "Monster Movie," the little girl and the teddy bear in "Wishful Thinking," and the evil god couple in "A Very Supernatural Christmas." I always wish Sarge (?) in "Croatoan" could have survived.
14. Sam's hair looked best in which season?
I'm not really particular, but I'll go with S4 or S6.
15. If the show would have ended the way Kripke wanted it to, with Sam and Dean battling each other and jumping into the hole together (and God might show mercy on them, idk), would you have preferred that?
THIS IS A BIG NO. I hated nearly everything plot- and mytharc-related in the final episode. I can totally buy Sam and Dean killing each other at the end of all things, but please not falling into some gaping hole as Lucifer and Michael. Surely there are better ways to allude to the themes of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Thelma & Louise, etc., than falling into an actual hole because a toy that the audience has no familiarity with is suddenly a key factor? That's like slowly setting up Chekhov's gun for five years, only to throw in a plastic red herring for the very last episode of the series. Use the amulet, for crying out loud. Its importance wasn't as "God EMF"; it was the sign of their brotherly love! Ugh. That still pisses me off. Driving the Impala off of a cliff into the Grand Canyon, though? Would be totally acceptable. Holding hands. After kissing. On the mouth. What? Just go with it. \o/
16. Best cast character throughout the whole show?
All of the main and major actors are perfectly cast, I think. Well, with a few exceptions already mentioned.
17. Do you think Chuck is God?
I have a tag just for this: "i am an atheist i don't believe in chuck." Awkward...
18. Who's a hotter psychic, Patrica Arquette, Jennifer Love Hewitt or Sam?
Sam, although I'd vote for Pamela Barnes if at all possible.
19. Freedom or Peace?
Freedom.
20. Dimples, freckles, eye-crinkles, bowlegs, bangs, woobie frowns or jaw clinches?
Eyes. Profile. Lips. Scruff. Arms. Back. Waist. Why do we have to pick just one? No fair.
21. Favorite kind of monster?
Shapeshifter. Always a great episode.
22. Weapon of choice?
Samfu + pearl-handled colt + Casfu + Bobby's (non-ventilated) brain. That is to say: Team Free Will. ♥ All of that said, I do rather love that sniper rifle, though, and wouldn't mind it coming back. Hot.
23. Favorite death?
Dean in "In My Time of Dying."
24. Favorite minor character's death?
Original Meg. Still memorable after all of these years.
25. Pre-apocalyptic, apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic?
BRING ON THE END. OMG! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, SHOW? DO IT. NOW.
26. Scariest episode?
"Bloody Mary," thanks to watching it soon after Ringu. "Everybody Loves a Clown" is a close second. Clowns kill!
27. Best song that mattered for a scene? (you can't choose Carry on Wayward Son)
I have an inordinate amount of affection for "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" by Rosemary Clooney, in the last scene of "A Very Supernatural Christmas."
28. Best and worst young versions of characters?
Colin Ford is head and shoulders above everyone else in that regard. Young Deans have been almost uniformly disappointing, but they all kind of blend together. For the worst, I guess I'll single out Alex Ferris as young Sam in "Something Wicked."
29. Characters I ship like crazy?
I don't know whether I would be classified as a multi-shipper or a "not true" shipper, as it is probably defined in fandom? I am invested in two relationships above all others: Sam/Dean and Cas/Dean. I am very much in love with the complexity of those two ships and don't read for the pwp. The little moments of intimacy are what I find hot. I also love shipping Dean with as many people as Jensen has chemistry with... which is basically everybody? It's his fault. I have a thing for Ellen/Dean, Gordon/Dean (yes, I know), Henriksen/Dean, Original Ruby/Dean and Cassie/Dean. I used to love Lisa/Dean, but I'm still kind of sore about how that all went down. Confession? John/Dean squicks me greatly, and I don't ship it at all, not even remotely. But the actors? If only there was some way to have JDM/Jensen on film or television together... Just once? Come on, people! fkjladg;jadsf
30. Favorite female character?
ORIGINAL MEG. Way at the top of my list. Also: Ellen, Jo (eventually), Pamela, Tessa, Ruby #1. I tend to like Anna more in concept than in actuality; I think I'm mostly just disappointed in how they ultimately used her. I also would like to see Jamie ("Monster Movie") and Mia ("Defending Your Life") again. Sarah from "Provenance," too. Casey was another favorite.
31. Best and worst season intro and finale?
Best Season Intro: "Lazarus Rising." No contest at all. Beautiful, intense, unforgettable.
Best Finale: "Devil's Trap" still stands very tall. "Lucifer Rising" is probably second.
Worst Season Intro: "The Magnificent Seven" was boring, but I'm going to say "Exile on Main Street" was the worst because it introduced three major plots/themes for the season, two of which were abandoned haphazardly without any ultimate point or purpose (the alphas, the Campbells) and the third (post-Hell Sam) which was so mismanaged throughout the season and into the next that I wish they'd gone a different direction altogether. Not to mention Dean's family life with Lisa and Ben, which was shuffled around, then dropped down a drain at the end. Boo.
Worst Finale: "Swan Song." Don't even get me started.
Oh, show. What you do to me.
