about Dean, caregiving and perception

Belatedly cross-posting this from tumblr.Okay. This is not a thinky post. SO MUCH THIS. *flails all over post* It scratches at so many things that drive me straight up a wall with fandom, and the last paragraph especially is so totally co-signed. It also explains quite neatly some things that have been BOTHERING me all season for reasons I couldn't quite put into words; it's not all that bothers me, but it's a big part of it. Thank you for that. <3

<33333 I think with Dean so much of his story gets relegated to the under current of whatever is going on, that it ends up being a more realistic journey but also one whose equal need for resolution and support/healing is overlooked because there is always something bigger, more immediate happening.

Yeah, exactly. It being so understated and not a main plot point is what makes it feel so really, but it's also what causes it to be put onto the backburner and straight-up forgotten for a while time and time again. Did I mention how frustrating I find that? Grrrrr.
