Dean's weary, still, but wide awake.
There is the longing for his mother, for that sense of comfort she was able to impart to a four year old child stripped away so suddenly -- all Dean has left is the shadow of that memory to try holding onto.
No anchor, indeed. Still, a few constants left giving him strong walls.
And still so true, despite or perhaps even because of everything that's come since -- this doesn't feel dated but rather timeless to Dean's character. Lovely job. Thanks for sharing.
