i am home.
more importantly, a well-loved friend is home too.
there are other repercussions, but a prison sentence is not among them.

the exit interview at the border was heartening. the officer on duty almost cheered (he did let loose with an exuberant "giddyup!") when we told him where we'd been and the outcome.

Unsurprising. News agents and journalists work faster than sleepy pixies who get in late and go Straight. To. Bed!

Relieved. Still steamed at the whole debacle in the first place, but that's easy to do when I don't have to think about parsing visitors' regulations.

Sentence stayed? This is a good day after a few gloomy ones, then.

Sentence suspended by a hefty fine, but the man goes home. After months of anxiety, 'tis a nice change.

This was so lovely to hear/read. Glad you're back safe and sound. Glad he's back home, too.
