see those "big knickers" they used in the movie Bridget Jones?

those aren't actually "big knickers"

these are "big knickers".

and in the weather just now, they're essential wear for under jeans!!

I should show you the picture of "big knickers" I have. I'll see if I can find it--Vickita knows the one of which I speak...

Oh, BTW, guess who's coming to our local little pub in Houston on Feb. 5--Dougie MacLean. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. If Alasdair Fraser makes it to the Scottish Festival (and brings along Natalie Haas), I'll be in Scottish music heaven :)))

Hugs,
S.

P.S. Actually, with *our* weather right now, I was contemplating my nice warm long silk underwear. It is very dreicht here--that's the word for very cold, windy and rainy, right?

yeah, driecht, or driech.

although driech is also "grey miserable, not quite raining but so damp the fish can breathe the air". It's the kind of weather that makes you scunnered.

I had my ski thermals on today - ankle length pink hi-tech fabric - under my purple trousers.

scunnered.

The wind chill is a very semi-tropical 32 degrees F. Which in this part of the world is officially freezing.

I wore my long wool coat today with my cashmere scarf. And Tom laughed when I bought them last year. I've used both of them more than I ever thought I would, given where we live! ;-)
