they'll get on better if they spell it "Edinburgh" - that way they'll find it on the map ;-)

The chip shop was on Royal Mile - just downhill from St Giles Cathedral, same side of the street. Can't remember the name, but it is the only fish and chip shop on that part High Street. Yes, still there - at least last time I was in that part of town.

I've gotten to that point where my brain, and thus my fingers, have started phonetically spelling. For some reason I equated Edinburgh with our renfaire, Scarborough--don't ask me how, 'cause I don't know!

Thanks for the info--I'll pass it on, including the proper spelling ;-) I just remember that place as having the best fried fish (and not gish) I'd ever eaten!!

Both,

Well, maybe not the high part, but I'm willing to raid the whiskey locker, but we are very dry. Heard a report we got only 1.5 inches rain *total* Everyone else got as much as 6....

Aren't y'all about to be scortched off the face of the earth?? OKC was the other huge story on the Weather Channel in the wee hours of the past couple of days.

Hope things cool down and soon!!

S.
