Things and such

* I think I have a TV hangover from this past week/weekend. Y'all, I watched a crap ton of stuff in the last 10 days. In the moment that is always fun but after, when you have to go back to the real world, it's not so good. It's been a long time since I've gone on a "bender" like that and uh..yeah. I dunno. I just feel kinda crappy, I guess.

Oh no! Your job can't go away. As you said, you need it! And also, like, AMERICA needs it. There, I said it.

TV coma! That is...one of those things that sounds like a good idea at the time, I know. And then afterwards, not so much. (Private Practice, I assume?)

Re: The Social Network, I feel compelled to confess that although I love all things Sorkin and although I thought it was quite good...my heart really belongs to his TV work. I thought the SN script was a good script and was pretty well executed, but I don't mind agreeing that it didn't strike me as THE BEST EVER. So. There's that. (That said: HBO series about cable news? This is going to be obnoxious and great! I can't wait!)

Ooh, I didn't know Katherine was traveling to Dangerous Places. For...fun? Anyway, hope she makes it back safe and the transition to threesome living (heh) goes smoothly. :)

Yes, the coma was from PP. So sad. (And by sad I mean, so crazy and messed up and TOTALLY ENJOYABLE) But the aftermath, not so much.

Kat made it back safe. She was in Lebanon, Egypt and Pakistan. Yeah. But she has cool pictures and video, so there's that.

I really liked Social Network just for the way the story was so well-constructed. I've seen it a couple times and it changes a little bit every time you watch it. The first time, I thought Zuckerberg was pretty much an ass, but the second time, I sort of felt sorry for him. I also think that you can feel empathetic for the other characters because you get their version (or parts of their version) of the story too, which is kind of what I loved, that there wasn't really a main character. Zuckerberg is supposed to be the main character, but I don't know if I would say that he 100% is.

So yeah, maybe not best picture, but certainaly best adapted screenplay. Then again, I'm not sure I could name a best picture winner in the last few years that I would have wanted to watch multiple times and this one I did, so there's that. I actually think The King's Speech would be my vote for best picture, though. That movie was flawless.

I would not be upset if it won adapted screenplay (though isn't The King's Speech also adapted? Am going to see that this weekend, and that could change my mind.) But I will be pissed if it wins best picture, becuase, to my mind, it just WASN'T.
