Gilmore nostalgia

I don't know why but I've been having it lately. Am I the only one who just kinda wishes the show was still on sometimes? Or that...I dunno, you could go back in time for a day and relive some of the crazy fan hype? (Maybe not though. Maybe that part is best left to nostalgia?) Sometimes I want to go back and read some good fics, but...horribly...I ( Read more... )

My best friend and I made a deal: I'd watch her old seasons of Gilmore Girls if she'd watch mine of Felicity. We both got hooked on the other's show, but of course Felicity was already over by then. I caught up with the GG DVDs just as Season 6 was airing, and I downloaded the first half of that season so I could watch the rest live. So I comPLETEly missed any fandom involvement whatsoever, and all I know is the show itself. Given what little I know of GG fandom, though, I'm not necessarily too upset I missed out on all that. But I still catch the reruns on ABC Family whenever I'm home, and even though I try to just have it on in the background while I'm cleaning or doing laundry or whatever else, I often end up sitting down on the couch at some point to just watch the rest of the episode. It's like a never ending marathon. :)

I promise not to judge if you post your resolutions! I'm sure no one else will either.

I'm curious: what is the purpose of having two separate journals? What determines what you write in which one, etc?

Ohhh, I didn't know that you missed all the GG fandom hype! For some reason I thought you were in it. It was crazy, but fun. But, you know, there were different sides to it. I tried to stay out of the spoiler community, because they were HARSH. And also stay out of any nasty branch of the fandom. BUT, in season 6, it did start to really turn nasty because people started getting bitter and that wasn't fun. But it was fun to read the fics, and to participate on some of the TWoP discussions, and if it weren't for Gilmore fandom, I wouldn't have an LJ (or probably even know what LJ was) and wouldn't know all you guys. So, there's that.

Two separate journals: Well, this one is more a journal where I just write what's going on in my life and how I'm feeling, etc., and the other one is not about my personal life at all, but is just about pop culture stuff, movies or TV shows I like, music I've discovered, etc.
