Hi there, LJ. Here is my quarterly update. Let's just get this out of the way first: I've been SHUT DOWN since October 1st. It mostly sucks. I've had some fun days here and there, have had the chance to run more, saw a couple of movies I probably wouldn't have otherwise, and donated a bunch of books to the library. Congrats on the new nephew! And I admire your decision to ditch cable. We could probably get away with that if it weren't for my husband watching live sports. We do pay a ridiculous monthly cable/Internet bill, though.

Thanks! I had absolutely nothing to do with the creation of my new nephew, but have been accepting the congrats messages anyway. :)

Yeah, the cable decision was a long time coming (like, a year) and I was really nervous to do it until a friend pointed out the obvious: If you don't like it, you can just switch back. Oh. Right. Duh. I've never been a live sports watcher in my own house - I'll occasionally watch a ballgame at my parents house or on vacation, but it's not appointment TV for me. And there are so many ways to get the news these days, that wasn't a huge concern.
