Actually, I don't really dislike the chapter. I don't really love it either. It's just a chapter. Point A, progress to point B, end. Madara showing up sort of amused me. I like that Sasuke's going to a somewhat darker place, but... well.
I heard he was going to kill people. And not just kill people, kill innocent people! There was supposed to be death. Maybe I'm just blood thirsty, but I was looking forward to seeing if "killed" in context meant "killed in the face with a sword--dead sword face!" or "OMG, you killed him, and he's totally dying, and he'll be dead if he doesn't receive basic medical attention within the next eighteen hours!" Knowing shounen manga a bit, I figured it could go either way.
Well, it turns out, "killed" in this context means "implied to have maybe probably killed people sort of, or maybe he's just stopped trying not to kill people now, when they attack him in the first place, but it's all very unconfirmed, so while yeah he probably killed at least a couple of people, it would be retcon if he turned out not to have. Oh, and he warned them first."
It's getting a bit darker, but really? It's still 12 year old appropriate as far as I can see. Which doesn't surprise me, since that's the target audience and all. But still. Where's the cold, premeditated murder? I mean, a ninja! Fighting samurai! And maybe possibly some of them might have died probably. Don't worry, none of them even had faces.
I find myself mildly disappointed. It's my own fault for listening too much to spoilers, I guess.
On another, totally unrelated note, Bleach continues to show KT's extreme prejudice against arms.
